CURD RICE



Ingredients
  1. Raw rice – 1 cup
  2. Water – 2 and1/2cups
  3. Milk – 1 cup
  4. curd – 1/2 cup
  5. Small onion – 3
  6. Green chilli – 1
  7. Ginger – 1 inch piece
  8. To Temper
  9. Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
  10. Curry leaf – few

Method

1. Rinse rice well and soak  it for 10 min
2. Add water to the rice and add salt to taste
3.Pressure cook the rice for 3 whistles
4.After 5 min open the lid, smash it well while it is hot
5.Add milk and curd with the rice(if u are going to take it later,add only one spoon of curd)
6. Then add some oil in a kadai,then add mustard seeds,when it splutters,add chopped onion,ginger,Green chilli one by one.

7.Transfer the contents from the kadai to smashed rice

8.Mix it well.check for salt level.Serve it with pickle.


SAMBA PUTTU

Ingredients
Samba Puttu Flour –2 cups
Salt – 1 tsp
Shredded coconut – as requried
Water – as required
Sugar – as required
Method
Wet the flour with required water and salt  and keep it aside for 5 minutes.

In the puttu maker place some shredded coconut on the bottom and fill it with puttu mixture.

In the pressure cooker add 4 cups of water and close it with lid.On the top of the pressure cooker place the puttu maker and steam it for 10 minutes.

Transfer the puttu into the plate.

Samba puttu is now ready to serve it with sugar.
