COCONUT CHUTNEY

Ingredients
To Grind
Shredded coconut – 1/2 cup
Green chilli – 2 to 3
Fried Gram – 2 teaspoon
Water – as required
Salt – to taste
To Temper
Oil – 1 teaspoon
Mustard and urad dal – 1 teaspoon
Curry leaves
Method
Grind the ingredients given above in the column “To Grind “ with enough water.

Temper the ingredients given above in the column “To Temper”

Add the tempered things in to the coconut paste.Add curry leaves and mix it well.

Enjoy this chutney with Idli or Dosa.

PEPPER RASAM



   Rasam is more easy to prepare.It helps for easy digestion.
Ingredients
  • Tomato – 2 (Big size)
  • Tamarind – lemon size (check the size in the picture)
  • oil- 1 tsp
  • Red chilies – 2
  • Salt as per taste
  • curry leaves,coriander leaves - few
To Grind
  • Black Pepper – 1 tsp
  • Coriander seeds – 1 tsp
  • Garlic cloves – 5 to 6(with peel)
  • Fenugreek seed – 1/4 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  • Hing – 1/2 tsp
  • Green chili – 1
  • Toor dal – 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seed – 1 tsp
Method
1.Soak tamarind in one cup of hot water for half an hour.In the mean time grind all the ingredients mentioned below ‘To Grind’(without water).

2.In a vessel add salt first.Then extract tamarind water and discard the pulp.Add this water into salt.

3.Chop the tomatoes into small pieces and add it into the above tamarind water and squeeze it well with hand.Add ground powder into it.
Adjust the water level.

4.Heat oil in a pan.Add mustard seeds,pinched red chilies.When it spluttered,add the water which we kept in vessel.

5.Let it allow to heat.When the level raises slowly switch off the flame.(Do not boil rasam for long time).Garnish with coriander leaves.

6.Now Rasam is ready to serve.
