TOMATO RICE

Recipe Highlights
This is one of variety rice  and easy to make with tomato
Ingredients Cooking Time : 20 - 30 Mins
Ingredients
Basmathi rice – 2 cups
Onion – 1
Tomato – 3
Oil – 3 teaspoon
Redchilli - 2
Mustard and Urad dal – 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Garlic – 2 nos.(finely chopped)
Chilli powder –  1/2 to  3/4 teaspoon
Sambar powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Ghee – 1 teaspoon (optional)
Coriander leaves
Salt – to taste

Method
Step :1
Chop the onion and tomatoes.Soak the rice for half and hour and cook it with 3 cups of water.
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard and urad dal. when it is started crackling add redchilli then add onion and saute it with little salt.

Step 2:

Add the chopped garlic and saute it for few minutes.When the onions comes to a transparent add the turmeric powder and tomato.

Step 3: Add the chilli powder and fry it till the tomatoes gets mushy gravy. IMG_2952IMG_2953
Step 4:
Finally add the sambar powder and saute it for a minute. add the chopped coriander leaves and salt.

Step 5: Now the add the rice and mix it gently.Don't add the hot rice or otherwise the rice will break easily. IMG_2956IMG_2958

Step 6:
Add a teaspoon of ghee and mix it.

Tomato rice is now ready to serve.

BABYCORN FRIED RICE

I tried little bit Spicy  in my vegetable fried rice. If don’t want much spicy in your fried rice then reduce the quantity of the chilli sauce and pepper powder.

Ingredients Cooking Time : 45 Mins

Onion-1

Carrot,Beans,Cabbage,Green peas –each 1/2 cup

Capsicum-1/2

Babycorn – 10 to 12 pieces.

Ginger garlic paste-1 teaspoon

Soya sauce-1  teaspoon

Chilli sauce- 2 to 3 teaspoon

Pepper powder-2 teaspoon

Oil-3 to 4 teaspoon  

Spring onion - 2   

Salt-to taste

To Prepare Rice

Rice-2 cups

Water -3 cups

Salt-1 teaspoon

Oil-1 teaspoon


Method
Step :1

Soak the rice for 1/2 hour. Add the oil and salt into the rice then boil the rice

Cut the vegetables.Heat  oil in a pan

Add the onions and sauté it with little salt for faster cooking

Add ginger garlic paste and sauté it till the raw smell goes. then add  the vegetables

Step 2:

Add soya sauce and cook the vegetables. Now add the babycorn and saute it for 10 minutes.

Add chilli sauce and saute it for a minute.

Add pepper powder and spring onion and mix it well.

Finally mix the cooked Rice.(It should not be hot)

Babycorn Friedrice is now ready to serve.
